Welcome to Sailing Coronado! We are John & Anna – an adventure-seeking, travel-loving couple currently exploring the world on SV Coronado, our 45’ Lagoon 450S catamaran. We love all of the experiences of travel: trying new food, experiencing different cultures, and meeting more of the fascinating people that inhabit planet Earth. We also love sailing and find our hearts are happiest when we are on the water. This combination makes exploring the world via sailboat pretty amazing!

This site was created to let our friends and family follow along on our journey. It’s also our place to document our adventure so we can look back on it later. Streaming the San Diego Padres game from the middle of the Pacific Ocean. Tahanea in the Tuamotus Archipelago is stunning. #lagoon450 #lagoon450s #frenchpolynesia #sailing #paradise #tuamotuatolls #frenchpolynesia Tahanea is our third atoll, and they keep getting more beautiful! #lagoon450 #lagoon450s #frenchpolynesia🇵🇫 #tuamotu We're in paradise right now, but navigating these beautiful waters is challenging. Charts don't exist for many of these atolls, so we create our own. Our two weeks in Raroia has been a blast! We’ve gotten a ton of boat projects done, and also made time for lots of fun. Scuba diving with friends, beach potlucks and bonfires at the Twin Palms “Yacht Club”, group Zumba mornings (led by Madelon on Dali), and a pizza birthday celebration for Heather on Sea to Sky. A group of us, including my new six-year-old bestie V, also took a fast boat to town for a visit to the local garden (yay for fresh veg!), and a fun lunch at Vaea’s house. Great times and great memories! Cruising is doing boat projects in exotic locations, sometimes at 75ft (23m) in the air. At least there was a nice breeze and an awesome view. We have arrived in Raroia, our first atoll! When we first dreamed of cruising, this was the place that captured our imagination. The remote atolls of the Tuamotus, in the heart of French Polynesia. We had a dolphin welcoming committee as we entered the pass, which needed to be timed just right to allow a safe entry. As we dropped our anchor and looked around, we both found ourselves flooded with emotion. We went to shore yesterday for lunch at Kua’s restaurant. Kua and her husband host a lunch in their front yard. You have to call the day before, because all the fish is caught fresh. It is one of the most delicious meals we have ever had!
